My understanding of Fountainhead
It is a story with the central theme of architecture. No character in this book has the same opinion about how the building should be designed. While some say that the great work of the past should be revered and we should just follow their path while some say we should get inspiration from past and not dwell on past. Howard Roark and Henry Cameroon are two of kind who look architecture differently than others. Henry Cameroon was the great architect during the time when he designed Dana building. He was more interested in how the buildings should look and how the customers should like the building. He didn't listen much to the customers. Slowly his clients / customers drained out and he was cornered to a small offfice in New York.
Guy Francon, once a employee of Henry Cameroon is now a top name in the architecture. Guy Francon had given a speech on the graduation ceremony of Stanton college. Peter Keating was the top student of architecture when Guy Francon gave the speech. Later, Guy Francon offered Peter Keating job in his firm in New York.
